Behavior Change Methodology

To create individual behavior and performance change, three things need to happen:

  • participants need to see relevance and value in a new way of performing;

  • they must experience success during training; and

  • they must be able to replicate that training success on the job.

RELEVANCE AND REPLICATION
Our real play training methodology creates relevance in every demonstration and practice. Our trainers demonstrate each skill by inviting a participant to work a live issue he or she is currently facing: there's no faking it and there is no scripted outcome. Participants see how our training can help them solve the kinds of problems they face every day. Our real play practice scenarios are similar: rather than play a role, participants work through their actual relationships and business problems in new ways. With four to six practices each training day, participants develop the competence and confidence to replicate what they've practiced on the job the very next day.

SUCCESS THROUGH FEEDBACK
Practice without rigorous feedback won't result in effective performance change. That's why fifty percent of each Ridge practice is devoted to feedback. All of our skills are anchored in observable behavioral standards, so the feedback a participant receives from our trainers and their peers is specific, actionable, and tailored to each person's personal style and development needs.
